One of those days

Ever have one of those? Today was that day. Just little things and I'll spare the details.  Because as I look back at the day the "problems" or "issues" were really nothing. They were nothing more than little inconveniences and through those inconveniences I was reminded how blessed we are with family (thanks mom and dad) and friends (you're a life-saver Bri) that come to our rescue and without hesitation they give. The more I've reflected on these blessings the more I'm reminded that even though today wasn't without it's challenges it was a day FULL of gifts. Today a sweet baby girl made her entrance into this world, today one of my dearest friends celebrated her birthday and today a family of two became a family of four with the finalized adoption of their beautiful children. I am thankful that today has been one of those GREAT days!

Any resemblance?

I had a plethora of things planned for posting tonight and then I started sifting through some old pictures and just had to share some fun. If it wasn't for one having blue eyes and the other brown, we might never keep their baby pictures straight.

Yesterday.....

....we had a much needed day of sunshine. {it was wonderful} Today the rain returned. But yesterday we enjoyed every last ray. Officially our first day of bare toes in the grass. Josie asked me to take her shoes off and as soon as her bare pigs touched the grass she squealed "Whoa!! That feels so good on my toes!" Oh yes it does Jo...good for the toes and good for the soul.
And the Dandelion Queen was in heaven picking and designing the most beautiful dandelion arrangements. I now have a window sill full of bright, yellow bouquets.
Today.....I am feeling thankful for the sunshine of yesterday.

The Cupcake Kids

Our crew {minus Josie Kate, who went home for a nap}
Our first annual Cupcake Kids Sale was a huge success and we feel beyond blessed by the donations, supporters and the amazing weather God provided.  The kids had so much fun and are truly already planning next year's event.
There was no shortage of cupcake yumminess!
The kids were fantastic at bringing in the buyers!
Definitely a favorite...the peep topped cupcakes
So fun to watch the kids interact and tell about what Cupcake Kids is all about.
Of course there was a little indulging. Okay, who am I kidding...there was a LOT of indulging!

And this just captures some of the best memories of the day. Old friends and new friends coming together for one common goal.....taking care of God's children with the abundance of blessings we have been given. While we are able to count the money and find success in that, it's hard to know how hearts might have been softened and eyes opened. For this I pray....that seeds were planted. Thank you again for all who helped in every way and thank you to the amazing friends we got to spend the day with!! We CAN'T wait for next year!!

Sweet Success

We had our cupcake sale today{yesterday} and let me just say....God is GOOD!! Not only did we have hundreds of donated cupcakes and people coming out to support the cause but we also had beautiful, dry, sunny weather!! That's no small gift around here! Right now our total is over $953.00!!! WOW!!! Can't wait to send it off to the amazing team at Sixty Feet to bless those sweeties in Uganda.

I have lots more pictures and more fun to share but it will have to wait.... this mama is tired and with three baseball games and a baby shower on the agenda tomorrow it's time to call it a night.

Longing

We're having a typical Northwest spring....lots and lots of rain. To lift my spirits I did a little digging for some sunny pictures from last year. Hopefully dreaming about these days will get me through until the sun comes back. But be prepared, if you live somewhere warm where I can wear my flip-flops, I just might show up on your doorstep with my family in tow.
