Soccer Saturdays with Millie

Well I'm a little late on posting this one considering her season has been over for two weeks. But she was sure to give me grief when she noticed Jo's soccer post so alas better late than never.

Millie moved up to a bigger field this year and the addition of goalies.
Each of the girls had the opportunity to try out the keeper position a few times.
Mils really enjoyed it but I definitely think she's more in her element out in the field.
She loves to be running and has a hard time being still for long.

These pics are from her first outing at goalie.
Determination written all over that face of hers!

She's such a fierce little competitor and we've had to do some work on our winning vs losing attitude. It's not all about winning, right?

It was a great season with great coaches and fun girls. A few of them she's been playing with since she started. She learned so much this season and I'm already looking forward to watching her next year.

And this crazy one....he can play next year. Oh goodness.

Next up....Soccer Saturdays with Maggie Lu.

Blog Worthy

We had a couple of events happen around our house that I've deemed worthy of a second post today. Sam had his first ski lesson and loved every minute of it! One of the many awesome benefits of homeschool is the freedom and help with funding these kind of adventures. I'm so thankful to my homeschool partner who worked out all the details and will be taking the boys up! He had a blast and can't wait to go again!
And little miss finally lost that front tooth that's just been dangling there for days! We were hoping she'd lose her first tooth on her birthday but she just missed it! She was wiggling and wiggling it in the bathroom and then came back to the bedroom and asked Maggie to yank it. Thankfully it didn't require much yanking. I can't believe how losing that one tiny tooth changes her little face so much.
It won't be long before that other one is gone too!

6

There's a birthday girl in our house. I can hardly stand that she's turning 6 today. I tell her daily that growing up is not allowed but she insists on it. I love her so much. She is somewhat of a mystery to me. All girl one minute and fierce competitor and worm hunter the next. Artist, lover of books, gardener and once committed to a task completely adamant about completing said task. She is hilarious and spunky and has a heart the size of Texas. She is tender and loves babies and animals. Her birthday wish list 1. Horse 2. Baby Brother 3. Baby Sister. Hmmm...working on the baby brother but not sure we can be much help with the other two. She loves Jesus and at 6 is a little prayer warrior. I pray she never loses sight of the wonder of  Jesus and uses that big ol' personality to share His love! We are beyond blessed.
Happy Birthday our sweet Valentine! We love you to pieces!

Hoops

We have three kiddos playing this year.
This is her rookie season and she's loving every minute of it.
She's not intimitated by the boys.

In fact, she might even intimidate them.

We're working on good sportsmanship and not playing too rough.

As in no shoving your opponent from behind.

She made her first basket tonight. Then immediately ran over to me for a
high five and a thumbs up.
Love that lil' baller.

Just a tease

i loved today. church. time outside digging in the dirt. much needed one on one time with my oldest girl. signs of spring....even though i know the groundhog says otherwise. that's okay, even if it's a big tease, i'll take every last minute of it.
since she was just tiny, amelia has loved digging in the dirt with me.
 she's about to lose her first tooth. even though i've warned her multiple times it's not allowed. {i think it's time tang is outlawed at sunday school}
i know. totally immature of me but i couldn't resist. please forgive me Jo.
it's a good day when we can trade the rubber boots in for flip-flops.

In All Circumstances

Since I was on the topic of giving thanks for my kiddos, I figured I might as well work my way through the crew as we approach Thanksgiving day. Amelia Mae, I don't know that I will ever find the words to accurately describe this blazing ball of energy and love. Look at that smile, how can you not just love her? Okay, I might possibly be a bit biased but she really IS just a load of fun! She possesses such an adventerous spirit and from a tiny age loved maps. She loves to learn about far away places and her prayers always include a country in need. Her heart is BIG and full of love for the Lord. She sings those songs (the ones that never end) about Jesus and how He loves us and we are His and someday we'll see Him in heaven. And they go on and on and on. I could listen to them all day. She is funny. I mean, turn your head the other way because you probably shouldn't be laughing at what she just said funny. She has amazing comedic timing and most nights has us in stitches at the dinner table. She's a baller and I'm sure will follow in the sporty footsteps of her older siblings. She's all limbs and we're still scratching our heads trying to figure out where she gets her big feet and her long legs. She reminds us how to love Jesus and to love Him in all circumstances.

Her prayer last night.....
"God, please give us good days......and bad days because we love you no matter what and this day is starting to go pretty bad."

I never want to forget her tender thoughts and prayers! I am SO thankful for our #3 and all the lessons she is teaching us at age 5! Love, love, love you Millie Mae!
