4 Little Monkeys Sitting on the Stairs

The biggest monkey on the stairs had an x-ray today and we got the bad news that he fractured his radius. You're probably thinking "that darn football" but nope, not football. It was the "darn skateboard!" It happened five days ago and we just finally took him to the doctor today....please don't judge. He just happens to "cry wolf" quite frequently so we thought this was another incidence of the proverbial wolf. We realized last night that even though he wasn't complaining much the swelling wasn't going down so it was time to have it checked out. We'll find out tomorrow just exactly how they're going to treat it but I think it's safe to say that football and skateboards are out of the question for the time being. I'll keep ya posted!

A baby shower...just in time!

My sis-in-law Kristen is due with her first munchkin in early September so we planned a baby shower for the first weekend in August...plenty of time right? Well we just squeaked it in before Kristen was sentenced to the couch for two weeks of bed rest. Kristen and her good friend Paula who is due with a little boy just days around Kristen's due date. They are both glowing!

Ali and Kara and I had a great time planning the shower and they were a fun, creative duo to work with! We went with an apple theme that turned out to be so fun to plan for. Ali did an amazing job with all the yummy food and Kara completed the theme with so many cute touches from red/green Jones sodas to adorable little apple cupcakes.
Kristen's mom Sue, Denise, Jill and the mommy-to-be.
Cousin Kyra, Aunt Judy, Kara and cousin Elise. Sorry for the terrible quality of picture.

Aunt Barb, Grandma Dacey(Lua on her lap), and Grandma White. Such a fun day and again so thankful it all worked out and we were able to celebrate the impending arrival of baby Dacey. I just can't wait to snuggle this new little one!

We had a party!

So we had a little party for Miss Firecracker. It was a perfect day with good food, beautiful weather and best of all our family and friends. Jo loved her cake and took no time at all to dig in(photo credits to uncle ry).
We got a shot of all the kiddos (minus Madi and Jack). Something tells me the boys are a bit outnumbered around here!
The little girls posing with Grandma and Papa Poo before the party.
Millie and Lily blowing bubbles. Ever since the party Millie has been telling me that for her "birkday" she would like to have a pinata and fireworks too!
Auntie Kristen and Uncle Ry
Liv and Navid
Sam and the love of his life Madi.
Madi and Bij
The girls sporting their matching dresses.

We had such a fun day and the party when on into the evening with a firework show put on by Sammy and Papa Dacey. So hard to believe a year has come and gone since this little one joined us. We love her so much and feel so blessed God chose us to be her family. Love you Jo Jo!

Mr. Football Man

I have a serious backlog of blogs but just had to throw this quick one up. Sam stared pee-wee football last week (yes, in the 100+ degree weather) and despite the heat was loving every minute. I fought the football thing for a long time...hoping he would drop it, hoping he would decide he just loved swimming so much he couldn't give it up, but in the end he won and I guess it's my job to support him and get excited about his newest love. I was just really hoping his interests would be in less aggressive, no-contact activities....who am I kidding, he told me the best part about football was hitting other guys...ughh! Okay, I'm officially hopping on board the football fan club train. Go Junior Hornets!
