I'm giving you fair warning right now-this is a loooong post with lots of pictures. Because I'm not a scrapbooker and I'm terrible with developing photos this blog serves as my place of documentation. We had a summer full of activities and fun and I want to remember every moment and have something to help the kiddos with their memories. With that said-consider yourself warned and feel free to log off at anytime!
We started our summer with a certain someone turning 11! Ughhh...that much closer to tween! Here's the birthday monkey showing off his tricks on the trampoline.
The first two weeks of summer the big kids were already busy with camps. Baseball for Sammy and basketball and soccer for Lu. Below: the girls are showing off their cheer moves learned at basketball camp. The little girls loved following along.
The fourth of July was a blast and we celebrated another monkey birthday....#2 for Miss Jo!
The weather was hot and our barn was full so we had another yard sale to raise money for our adoption. It was a one day affair that not only helped with the fundraising but we had a fun day with friends and family that came out to help and swim! I think this may have been one of the hottest days of the summer!
The following week was Vacation Bible School. We had a super fun week that ended with a great family celebration after Sunday service.
Sam so kindly volunteered to sit in the dunk tank. He may rethink this one next year!
Just a couple days later we packed up the car and headed east for a quick little overnight camping with Grandma and Papa Dacey and Ali and her kiddos. This may have been the highlight of our kids summer. They are still talking about riding their bikes around the campground and they thoroughly enjoyed the freedom and fun they had hanging with their cousins.

Sitting by the campfire
Three bugs all snuggled up
A little morning fishing
The street fair was next where Maggie found out that she loves rides!
Millie loved the kiddie motorcycle ride.....
...and Sam was a good sport to join in with her!
When the rides were no longer exciting enough for Maggie it was off to the bungee jump and then the climbing wall. All the sudden this girl has become our thrill seeking monkey!
Jo was just happy to be along for the ride until her balloon got away......
Screaming fit over that balloon but thankfully someone was so kind to give her another.
A happy girl again!
Having a unicorn painted on your face is pretty fun too.
Dressing up for Bible Time...hmmmm...not sure if Jo thinks this is so fun.
The next morning we were up bright and early for the street fair 5k. Sammy racing to the finish line where he finished 4th in his age group.
Maggie cheering on her BFF Kennedy. Maggie was super excited about her 2nd place finish in her age group!
And then a fun family wedding!
A ferry ride at sunset
Meeting with our Adoption group for the first time and making lots of new friends!
Another 5k and Personal Records for both kids!
Way to go guys!!
Sporting our attire!
A trip to the zoo turned into a trip to the beach when after a half hour of circling the parking lot we gave up and opted for the surf instead.
JoJo staying close to dad
Jumping the waves
There was also swimming in the pool (not nearly enough though).
So happy to have some freedom with her puffy swim suit!
And then some more swimming in Yakima!
Skateboarding in Yakima!
Go Karts in Yakima!
The drive home from Yakima over Chinook Pass gave us a chance to stop and do a little walking around Lake Tipsoo.
Jo found her new favorite mode of travel.
She was NOT happy to leave her daddy's shoulders.

Another trip to Seattle with our big kiddos to do some kayaking.
And to celebrate the end of summer we had a very impromptu ice cream/shaving cream fight/ pool party.
Love the sights and sounds at the Market!
Jo checking out the street below...just love this picture of her for some reason.
And what better way to end our summer than celebrating the first birthday of this cutie patootie?!!
Really? Could he get any cuter? He was such a champ with his cake and was such a patient boy sharing all his new toys with his cousins!
hello? anyone there?
Miss Lua...such a little beauty!
Wild monkey girl!
Are you tired yet? Oh it was such a fun and full summer. We checked off almost every item on our summer list but I'm still not ready for the kids to go back to school. I would love them home a little bit longer. But ready or not, in 9 short hours they return to the routine and it I have a feeling it's going to be awful quiet around here. Goodbye summer 2010! It was one for the memory book!
