Well actually the backyard of love. A few weeks ago my cousin Stacy and her sweetie Cesar said their "I do's" on a beautiful afternoon in my cousin Steve's backyard. Planning an outdoor wedding in Washington, no matter what time of year, can be a gamble but it turned out to be a perfect, warm, sunny afternoon. The backyard was decorated so sweet and simple with gorgeous bouquets of fresh market flowers everywhere. The kids found a shaded spot in the grass and plopped down to enjoy the ceremony. Nephews Brayden and Bailey were the young groomsmen and neice Katlyn was flower girl.
An after the ceremony pose....whew, it's all over!
The 3 Amigos
Auntie Frankie {proud mother of the bride} and Uncle Bob
And what would be the perfect entertainment at a warm backyard wedding? Why swimming of course! Once the vows were exchanged, kisses smooched and amazing Mexican dinner eaten the kids traded in their wedding duds for their swim trunks!
Sam catching some sweet air
Navid checking out the slide
Backwards down the slide for Lu.
And how do we keep a two year old that absolutely loves the water out of the pool? Why we bribe her of course. With some candy......
cupcakes.....
and cold beverages.
But in the end she won out! Thanks brother for helping her out!
YES!!
It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the marriage of Stacy and Cesar and also reuniting with family we haven't seen in years. Some of my fondest memories growing up are with Stacy. She was always so much fun {she still is} and has a witty sense of humor. Oodles of memories swimming in the lake at grandmas, waxing the slide so we would shoot down it 100 miles an hour, matching Christmas PJ's and slumber parties on Christmas Eve. Love that I have these memories! Congratulations Stacy and Cesar~we are so happy for you!
And just an FYI...I did a cupcake/candy table for their wedding. Check it out here
