Well our first monkey turned double digits last week. And yes, I'm having a hard time with it. And yep, cliche as it is, I wonder "where did the last ten years go?" We are so blessed to have Sam and love that our little girls have such a great big brother to look out for them. He is a fun loving kid with an fantastic sense of humor. There are so many great things about Sam that I'll just have to put him in bullets....*Before Sam leaves to go anywhere he is sure to kiss and hug everyone(including Maggie) and say "I love you" several times. If Maggie is for some reason not present when he leaves he asks that one of us "give her a hug and tell her I love her." Ahhh, if only all the time he showed her his love....a mom can dream:)
*Sam loves sports and I'm not sure there's a sport out there he wouldn't try. Before he could even talk he could sink a shot from across the room into his little tikes hoop.....over and over and over again! He has an endless supply of energy that seems to lends itself well to athletics.
*Speaking of energy, Sam requires very little sleep. He has always been that way and it will be intersting to see how this plays out when he hits the teen years.
*Sam is a reader and devours books by the hour. I love when we get to snuggle in bed and read together and I love that he enjoys reading so much...what a gift.
I love, love, love that monkey of mine and as I've said before there is a very special bond with a mom and her son...not bigger or better than a daughter...just different and special and I'm so thankful he's mine.
