Currently the entertainment around here is baseball, baseball and more baseball. The past two weekends we have gotten to travel to the east side of the state for not just baseball but time with family and some much needed sun! Last weekend was especially fun as we stayed in the town I spent my college years. We camped out with most of the team and Grandma and Papa were such gracious hosts at their campsite. The girls were a little spoiled getting to sleep in the camper while the boys tented it out in the windy city. I love Ellensburg but somehow I had forgotten how crazy windy it is there!
We of course cheered on the Mt. Rainier All-Stars
With a little down time on Saturday afternoon we got to do a little exploring in town. There was a little farmer's market going on and a wiener dog convention. Who knew? We were really quite entertained by the dogs...many of them dressed in fancy attire including a University of Washington cheerleader. FYI..I used to work in the above building during my college years.
Poor little guy in the back...he just couldn't keep up with those hot dogs up front! (no pun intended)
We ventured on down the block and checked out a fun little coffee shop and concert venue. Another fun fact about that location is that it used to be a jewelry and china stored owned by Rocky's sister's in-laws (did you follow that?) and the jewelry store Rock picked out my engagement ring. It looks nothing like it's former self and is now full of funky art, exposed brick and lots of character. I didn't want the nostalgia to end so we kept on going down memory lane with a stroll on campus. It looks so different since I graduated. I kept having to remind myself that it has actually been 15 years since I was there...it just feels like yesterday. :) There's been a ton of new construction and one of the buildings that I once spent much of my time in is now gone and replaced by this beauty below.
It is still Black Hall but not the same Black Hall I took all my education classes in.
This one is new and improved!
One of Rocky's favorite things is taking the kiddos for college campus field trips. The girls seemed to enjoy every minute of it too.

It was a super fun weekend and the kids are already adding the good times into their summer memory bank. The baseball gets us there but it's not all about the games. There was swimming, playgrounds, riding around the camground on bikes, bbq with the team and time with grandparents. All the good stuff summer memories are made of. Even with the wind the sun was out and we soaked up as much as possible.
Enjoying all the beautiful scenery around us. And then we saw the west side looming ahead........Yep, right back into the clouds!
Thanks for the memories Eastern Washington...we hope to be back soon!

We have been living at the baseball fields as well! It's interesting with two little ones this year! Whew! But, we wouldn't have it any other way! Great pics.
