The long weekend

We stayed put for the holiday weekend.

I am so thankful for the time spent with our sweet families.

Papa put up the volleyball net and the kids spent hours playing.

Love that Lu is rockin' the barn boots for volleyball.

These two spent some time getting better acquainted with one another. Jo declared Mateen her "best friend"and I think he was just trying to figure out what the mess on her face was.

Rock and I also got to sneak away for a couple hours for a real live date...just the two of us. It was wonderful to connect and get caught up and I'm hoping we get to do it again before we let five months go by. Thanks mom and dad for keeping the kids so we could have a date. And to top off our great weekend we grilled and smored again with the Wood fam on Sunday evening. As always we spent the night laughing and feeling full on good food and great time with family. Sam and Amelia stayed the night and it felt a little strange to go home with just two kiddos. I made one last ditch effort to talk Amelia into coming home with us...trying to convince her she'd miss me. I'm not sure why I bother. She informed me that while she would most definitely not be missing me she would, however, try to remember me. Thanks a lot Mils! So there ya go...a weekend full of family that leaves me feeling so very thankful.
